Sajeeb Wazed Joy's 51st birthday today

The 51st birthday of Bangabandhu’s grandson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s only son Sajeeb Wazed Joy is being celebrated on Tuesday. 

Sajeeb Wazed Joy was born to nuclear scientist MA Wazed Miah and Bangabandhu’s eldest daughter Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka amid the Liberation War on July 27, 1971.  

Joy attended the Kennedy School of Government at one of world's most famous Harvard University, which taught him the governance issues and earned him the Masters degree in Public Administration.

Joy was in Europe with his parents when Bangabandhu was assassinated in the Aug 15 1975 massacre of the family. He then travelled to India with his mother.

He played the pivotal role in setting the country's crucial course being the beacon of 'Digital Bangladesh'.

On February 25 in 2009, Sajeeb Wazed officially joined the Awami League as a primary member of the Rangpur district unit of the party within days, and as an IT policy analyst, unveiled the concept paper and action plan for the government's ambitious "Digital Bangladesh" campaign.

Marking his birthday, Awami Jubo League will arrange a milad and doa mahfil at 11:00 am at Bangabandhu Avenue.
