2080 metric tons of Hilsha is being exported to India in Durga Puja
With Durga Puja in mind, the Bangladesh government has allowed the export of 2,080 metric tons of hilsa to India. 52 companies of Bangladesh have got permission to export these hilsas.
This information was given in a letter signed by Tania Islam, Deputy Secretary, Export-2 Branch, Ministry of Commerce, on Monday (September 20) afternoon.
According to the letter, 52 companies have been given conditional permission to export hilsa to India on the occasion of Durga Puja.
Earlier, in 2019, on the occasion of Durga Puja, 500 tons of hilsa was exported to India. Last year, 1,465 tonnes of hilsa was exported to the country.
It is learned that various preparations are underway including quarantine order for hilsa export. The export of this fish will start from next week.
