Bank job seekers are getting 21 months exemption on age
Bangladesh Bank has directed to give age exemption to the job seekers as the recruitment process was stalled due to the panidemic coronavirus. The directive calls for 21 months exemption for job seekers.
The Banking Regulation and Policy Division (BRPD)of Bangladesh Bank on Thursday (November 25) issued the directive in this regard.
The central bank has given this instruction in the light of the order given by the Ministry of Public Administration.
According to the central bank circular, the banks which could not issue recruitment notices for direct recruitment due to the Covid-19 situation, have been directed to take necessary steps to fix the maximum age limit of the candidates on March 25, 2020. This instruction has been issued under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Banking Companies Act, 1991. It has also been mentioned that this instruction will be effective immediately.
Earlier, on August 19, the Ministry of Public Administration issued an order in this regard.
The order said that those ministries, departments and their subordinate departments, departments and statutory, autonomous or nationalized bodies which could not issue notices for direct recruitment in various government jobs (excluding BCS) due to COVID-19 situation, should be notified by 31 December. In the notification, the age limit of the candidates has to be fixed on March 25 last year. However, this will not be applicable for BCS.
