Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said the BNP was responsible for Khaleda Zia's illness and that her condition was being monitored.

He said pro-BNP doctors were talking tutored comments about Khaleda Zia's illness. He said that they have been asked to bring doctors from abroad for treatment.

The Awami League general secretary said this at a unit conference of Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League at Nawabganj Park on Monday (November 29) morning.

Obaidul Quader said that the person whom Khaleda Zia wanted to kill has shown humanity. Besides, without Ziaur Rahman, the killers would not have dared to kill Bangabandhu.

Regarding the UP elections, Obaidul Quader said that the voter turnout in the Union Parishad elections has surpassed the all-time record. He said they would not be their own enemies. There are allegations of terrorism, extortion, drug dealing against many. They are tarnishing the achievements of the government.

The Minister of Road Transport has urged the private bus owners to consider the issue of half fare for the students.

If Awami League is the enemy of Awami League, there is no need for external enemy. Therefore, in the formation of the committee, the dedicated leaders have to be evaluated. The quarrel must stop. Do not show the might of power.

Bangladesh has strongly condemned the drone strikes by Huthi militias in the United Arab Emirates. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) in Musaffah, causing extensive damage to civilian property.

The foreign ministry said in a statement that the latest attack was "an intense form of aggression by Huthi militias that has escalated tensions in the region."

This is a repeat of the terrorist attack after the hijacking of the UAE-flagged cargo ship Rawabi off the coast of Al Hudayah Governorate on January 2.

The statement said that Bangladesh considers the recent drone strikes targeting civilian installations and killing of innocent civilians an illegal, cowardly act of terrorism and a clear violation of international law and civil code.

Noting that such irresponsible actions could escalate tensions in the region, Bangladesh has called on Huthi militias to refrain from repeating such illegal activities and deliberately escalating tensions.

Dhaka expresses its strong solidarity against any threat to the security and safety of the people of the United Arab Emirates and its brotherly people.

The statement further said that Bangladesh is firmly committed to all efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region.

The president made the remarks while addressing a video conference from Bangabhaban at the Deputy Commissioners' Conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Tuesday (January 18).

"You are acting as the coordinator and supervisor of various government activities at the field level, which is playing an important role in the development of the country as a whole," he said.

The President, as a servant of the people, advised to put the interests of the country and the people above all, and said, "We and you are the servants of the people." So do your duty as a servant of the people. Deliver government services to the doorsteps of the people.

He said social security programs are an effective means of alleviating poverty and establishing social justice. Through these programs, DCs need to provide effective leadership in meeting the basic needs of the country's poor, ensuring social security and empowerment of the people, especially women.

The President directed the Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to build a culture of transparency and accountability at every level of field administration.

President Hamid said corruption is the biggest obstacle to development. Sustainable development is being hampered by corruption. Therefore, a culture of transparency and accountability must be built at every level of field administration.
