The comments of the doctors on Khaleda’s health is tutored: Information Minister
Information and Broadcasting Minister and Joint General Secretary of Awami League Dr. Hassan Mahmud said that the comments of doctors on Khaleda Zia’s health are all tutored by BNP.
He made the remarks in response to a question after a meeting with representatives of TV cable network operators in the meeting room of his ministry at the Secretariat on Monday (November 29).
The minister said it was clear from their statements that as much as they did not speak as doctors, they spoke for political purposes. And most of the doctors are associated with BNP party politics.
The BNP has now taken the politics of Begum Zia's health from their leaders to the doctors, it has been proved that Dr. Hasan said, "I have seen on television the executive director of Ziaur Rahman Foundation ZRF, Prof. Dr. Farhad Halim Donor made a statements. There was another statement signed by Dr. Md. Fakhruzzaman. Another doctor held a press conference yesterday. All of them are associated with BNP's party and domestic politics.
The information minister said the doctor said there was only treatment in the UK. And there are treatments in Germany and the United States, not in India, not in Singapore, not even in Bangkok. The reality is that now many people from Europe and America come to Singapore and Bangkok for treatment. How the doctors said there is no other place, only Tareq Rahman where resides, there is treatment in UK and there are neighboring countries Germany and USA.
Awami League joint general secretary Hasan Mahmud said that if the BNP secretary general had said so, they would be planning to create chaos. I think there could be a criminal case against him for that. Because he himself has admitted that he is planning to create chaos and it is a criminal offense. They have created a lot of chaos in the past, the people of the country will not allow them to create chaos anymore.
The minister said the court had stayed the November 30 deadline set by the ministry. Work is underway on behalf of the ministry, hopefully the time will be rescheduled once the moratorium is lifted. However, the cable network needs to be digital, the government is working towards this goal and we are committed to it.
In Bangladesh, the lower class, lower middle class, middle class, upper middle class, upper class consumers can buy set top box in one time or in installments as per their need and ability and at the same time whether it can be produced in the country, was also discussed.
After the meeting with the cable operators, Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud said that the cable operators have made preparations. They have set up digital heads in other cities including Dhaka-Chattagram metropolitan city. In addition, if every customer has a set top box, the cable operating system will be digitized. This will enable the subscribers to watch television better and at the same time the revenue that the government is losing Taka 15 to 18 hundred crores every year will be saved.
