Transport workers have claimed that there are rows of buses standing at the Kalyanpur bus stand in the capital, but two seats are empty in each bus as there are no passengers as expected. But last few years ago, this bus stand used to be busy with the shouts of helpers.

The same picture was seen at Gabtali Bus Terminal. The familiar crowd is not there. Transport workers are now standing idly in front of the counter where there was no place to step.

This picture was seen on Sunday (April 7) morning around Kalyanpur and Gabtali bus terminals.

However, the transport workers of Gabtali and Kalyanpur hope that the passenger pressure will increase from the afternoon. The holiday of garment factory workers will start from tomorrow, Monday (April 8). Therefore, on that day and the next day (April 9), the number of passengers will be relatively high.

Amit Hasan, manager of Dhaka-Kushtia-bound Rabeya Paribahan, said that passenger pressure is low at present. So one can come directly to the counter and buy a ticket and go home. However, the pressure of passengers will increase tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

When asked about the reason for the low number of passengers, he said that Padma bridge has been opened. As a result, it is going in less time and less cost. So the pressure of passengers is less.
