Police claimed that there are multiple cases against Fakhrul Anwar, which are being investigated.

According to local sources, the wedding ceremony of Awami League leader Fakhrul Anwar's son was held at the Navy Community Center. Former MP of Fatikchhari, Tariqat Federation Chairman Nazibul Bashar Bhandari and MP Khadijatul Anwar, along with many leaders and activists of the North District Awami League and its affiliated organizations, were there. Such news spread through social media. Around 9 pm, more than a hundred people gathered outside the community center and started chanting slogans like 'My brother is in the grave, why is the murderer outside' and 'Abu Sayed is Mugdha, the war is not over'. After that, Fakhrul Anwar was arrested in a joint operation by the police and the army.

Intelligence sources said that an operation is being conducted to find MP Soni and Bhandari. Hundreds of students are standing in front of the community center and chanting slogans. However, many who came to the event claimed that they did not see the two former MPs at this wedding.

According to the latest information, a large number of naval personnel have been stationed at the scene to keep the situation normal.

Meanwhile, at around 1:30 am, leaders and activists of Chattogram City South Student Union took out an immediate protest procession in the city's Agrabad area to protest the 'release of the Awami League leader'. After the procession, they said in a short rally, "Today, terrorists have been released from the Awami League through the police. We want to say that there will be no place for Awami League's friends here. The police cannot take a stand for the Awami League. They will not have a place here until the student murder is tried." Incidentally, Fakhrul Anwar's son got married to the granddaughter of former Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) mayor M Manjur Alam. The post-wedding reception was held at the Navy Convention today. Many leaders and activists of the North district Awami League were seen there. However, when the situation became chaotic, most of the guests left the venue.
