Prime Minister gives directives to BCL to raise problems of the students
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave directives to Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL) leaders to raise the various problems of the students alongside cooperating the government.
These directives were given to them by the Prime Minister when a delegation of BCL led by the acting president and secretary of BCL Al Nahian Khan Joy and Lekhak Bahttachariya went to Ganabhavan on Thursday (Sept.19) evening.
At the time of meeting Awami League joint secretary Abdur Rahman, who was present there informed this.
Abdur Rahman said that the BCL leaders were given directives to raise their problems. Side by side they were told to cooperate the government.
Abdur Rahman said that BCL has a very glorious history. Accordingly Prime Minister expects that BCL must preserve that with integrity, transparency, skillfully, dedicating and as a worker imbued with the ideology of Bangabandhu.
He further quoting the Prime Minister said that the PM told about to build a modern public library and construct an auditorium renovating the present TSC. She also laid stress on to create congenial academic atmosphere along side cooperate the government.
Joint Secretary Abdur Rahman said that to get the recognition as a student organization, the BCL must go close to the masses. It must be looked that the BCL in no way becomes a burden or problems to the countrymen. They should work in such a manner so that the people can accept them as an associate body of an acceptable political organization.
In reply to a question Abdur Rahman said that though they are acting but they can take all the decisions constitutionally. Only they cannot do the work which can harm the image of the organization.
It may be mentioned here that Al Nahian Khan Joy and Lekhak Bhattachariya have assumed to the offices of president and secretary respectively of central BCL committee following the resignation of Rezwanul Haque Shovon and Golam Rabbani.
After assuming the posts they went to Gonobhavan to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday evening.
