Contributions in Britain’s economy by the British Bangladeshi praised
In the function of UKBCCI for awarding the best businesses and entrepreneurs- 2019, the guest recalled the contributions of the British Bangladeshi in Britain’s economy.
The third function of UKBCCI Business and Entrepreneurs Excellence Award function- 2019 was held on last Sunday (Oct.6) with festivity.
The last two functions held in 2016 and 2017. This time it was more inspirational held in the London Hilton on Park Lane of central London. UKBCCI handed over prizes in 12 categories to the most successful businessmen.
The inaugural speech was delivered by UKBCCI president Bazlur Rashid while the function was conducted by ITV presenter and broadcaster Samina Ali. The president in his speech disclosed that the catering sector is contributing 4.5 billion pounds in Britain’s economy. However, 5 lakhs Bangladeshis have achieved tremendous success in IT sector, import, export, medical, retail and in other important sectors. Owing to their merit and labors the British GDP is increasing every year. The object of this function is to highlight the contributions of the best.
He further said that it is further designed to focus on the best businesses and entrepreneurs so that the new generation is encouraged or inspired and find out their future role models.
Chairman of the organization Iqbal Ahemd said that we have imprinted our success in British economy. Now time has come to increase the bilateral trade between Britain and Bangladesh. Now Bangladesh is a country of potentials. UKBCCI is working to bring both the Bangladeshi businesses and British businesses under the same umbrella. This will help strengthened the bilateral relations of the two countries.
The chief guest of the function ruling Conservative party chairman Rite honorable James Cleberly MP said that British Bangladeshi business men is appreciably contributing in Britain’s economy. The successful entrepreneurs deserve appreciation in today’s award giving function. We are working with the target so that the post- Brexit government of October 31 gives more inspiration to these businesses. We are very much eager to help all the businesses internationally including those of UK.
The prestigious lifelong honor of UKBCCI was owned by a successful business person of Bangladesh Syed Manjur Elahi, the founder chairman of Apex Foot wear, the Pioneer Insurance Company and Mutual Trust Bank. In his speech Syed Manjur said that it is very laudable in working to set up communication between the Businessmen of Bangladesh and Britain. He further said if any one gives hard labor, honesty, perseverance and determination then he will be successful and would reach the goal.
UKBCCI special award went to the oldest newspaper 'Weeky Janamat' and Choice award was won by one of the most popular TV channel SK of Britain.
The function was also attended among others by Bangladesh High Commissioner to Britain Sayed Muna Tasnim, Rushonara Ali MP, Lord Karan Bilimoria MP, UKBCCI vice-chairman M.A. Rouf JP, Finance director Nazmul Islam Noor, International Trade affairs director Rahim Mia and other dignitaries. Dances and songs were presented during short intervals of the function.
