International calendar commemorating birth centenary of Bangabandhu
Work on publication of an International calendar in connection with the observance of ‘Mujib Year’ is going on. In the birth centenary celebration of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman heads of various governments and states, political personalities, eminent educationists, International famed persons will be present.
The matter came up in the third meeting of the International program and communicating committee formed in connection with the birth centenary celebration.
The meeting was held at International Language Institute, Segunbagicha chaired by foreign minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen on Sunday (Oct.13).
In the meeting the progress of work done at various foreign missions were reviewed. The strategy of highlighting the struggling life and works of Bangabandhu through short film, photo exhibition and other modes were discussed.
Among other the meeting was attended among others by Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmed Chowdhury, former foreign minister and chairman of Standing Committee on finance ministry Abul Hassan Mahmud Ali, chairman of the standing committee on foreign ministry Colonel (Rtd) Farooq Khan, birth centenary observance committee convener Dr. Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, foreign secretary Md. Shahidul Haque, former foreign secretary Mahiuddin Ahmed, former ambassador Md. Zamir, Artiste Hasem Khan and committee members.
It may be mentioned here that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2018 announced that the birth centenary of the Father of the nation will be observed as ‘Mujib Year’ from March, 2020 to March of 2021
