The 10th national council of Kirshak League, an associate organisation of the ruling Awami League, has begun in presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The proceedings of the two-day conference began after the prime minister, also the president of Awami League, arrived at the venue at Suhrawardy Udyan around 11:10am on Wednesday (Nov 6).

The prime minster hoisted the national flag and released pigeons and balloons to inaugurate the council when the national anthem was played.

Leaders and activists of Krishak League from across the country and council delegates started to throng the conference venue since morning.

A festive mood has been created over the council as it is being held after over seven years. The last council was held on July 19, 2012.

The conferences of other associate organisations of the Awami League will follow the Krishak League council.
