Savar(Dhaka): The agitating group comprising of both students and teachers have announced new program in Jahangirnagar University for removal of the VC Prof. Farzana Islam. The new program was announced rejecting the ban imposed by the university administration on rally, meetings and procession on the campus.

On Wednesday (Nov. 6) night the agitating group announced the new program in front of the residence of VC.

During the announcement of the program, one of the organizers of the movement Chattra Front leaderMahathir Mohammad said, ‘Tomorrow (Nov.7) morning at 9 a.m all the administrative buildings will be locked, at 12 noon a protest rally will be brought out and in the evening a concert will be held in front of the residence of the VC. Our movement will continue till the removal of VC Prof. Farzana Islam.’

He further said that, ‘we all, reject the orders of this illegal VC. So, we do not abide by any decision of the university administration. Farzana Islam has closed the university but kept the office opened. Because, she wants to continue plundering of the wealth of the university after sending the students out side by shutting down it.’

Mahathir alleged that, ‘our Face Book pages have been hacked and misleading information about our movement are being posted there. Farzana Islam has exhausted all her weapons against us. Our movement will continue till the obstinate VC quits Jahangirnagar University.’

Earlier through a notification signed by the acting public relations officer Salam Saklaine of JU banned all rallies, processions and meetings on the campus.

In the notification it was told that according to the decision of the emergency meeting of the syndicate of  university held on last Nov. 5, all classes, examinations have been suspended for an indefinite period. Meanwhile the resident students have left the campus. All types of shops and other outlets have been shut down. So the university authority feels that under such circumstances no student should reside here.

During this sine die condition the students remaining outside the campus shall not be allowed to hold rallies, processions and meetings on the campus. And they will be not allowed to stay inside the campus in any way.
