New JMB wants to draw attention of IS

The news of the death of Amir Abu Bakar Al Bagdadi, the founder of Middle East based militant organization Islamic State(IS) was received. Immediate after the death of Amir Abu the militant organization has announced the name the new Amir as Abu Ibrahim Al- Hashemi Al –Quariashy. Practically to draw the attention of new leadership of IS, the Bangladesh militant’s new JMB faction pasted a photo with the flag of IS.

It is learnt that the new JMB Artul Gul took the snap somewhere in a jungle of Bangladesh. In the picture eight youths were seen with the IS flag.

Dhaka City unit of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime(CTTC) of DMP and Rab officials who saw the picture of the new JMB said that they wanted to show their so called allegiance to IS.

Practically they wanted to draw the attention of the new IS leadership. However, analyzing the picture the CTTC and Rab will work to bring them under the purview of law.

Sources said that the picture of this new JMB was first sent to the IS publication agency ‘AMAK Agency’. Next the picture was published by the profit –oriented US Sight Intelligence who monitors the militant activities around the world.

In a raid CTTC has arrested four members of JMB from Ramna area of the capital. Their interrogation is going on in remand.

The Investigation Officer (IO) of the case said that in middle of 2018 the so called IS led by one Rakibul Hassan took a video for media publicity on the bank of river Nagar in village Sanjoypur under Dupchachia police station of Bogura district. Next CTTC carrying on a raid ‘Operation Guardian Knot’ in Narshingdi district, then Rakibul was arrested while his accomplices had gone under ground.

In recent time this group members after taking snaps sent those to IS publication agency ‘AMAK’. While taking these types of snaps, the four JMB militants were arrested on last Monday.

The IO of the case and Senior Assistant Commissioner(AC) of CTTC SK Imran Hossain told barta24.com that the arrested four militants are being interrogated. They are giving various information about their militant involvement.
