Three probe committees formed to investigate the train accident
Three probe committees have been formed by the Railway ministry and the B,baria district administration to investigate train accident. So far 15 people were killed and 74 people were wounded in this accident occurred in the small hours of Tuesday (Nov.12). Armed Forces members and Fire Service people are carrying on rescue operation at the accident spot.
Secretary of Railway Ministry Md. Mofazzel Hossain and Brahmanbaria deputy commissioner Hayatuddowla Khan told about formation of three probe committees.
Railway Secretary told barta24.com that from Railway department two committees have been formed while DC of B, baria told about the formation of a three member probe committee headed by Additional District Magistrate Mitu Marium to investigate the cause of the accident.
Railway Secretary said that it will be learned why the accident occurred after investigation. Rescue operation is going on. The train service will resume soon.
Earlier the accident occurred at Mandabhag station of Koshba upazilla when Chattogram bound Intercity Udayan Express from Sylhet and Dhaka bound Turna Nishita from Chattogram collided head on killing 15 passengers on the spot while injuring 74.
Due to the impact of the accident a number of carriages of Udayan Express were crumbled and badly damaged killing nine passengers instantly.
All train communications with Dhaka from and to Sylhet and Chattogram are suspended.
