‘BNP-Jamaat wanted to use Bhashani’- Menon
President of Bangladesh Workers’ party Rashed Khan Menon said that, BNP-Jamaat alliance wanted to use Mowlana Bhashani to serve their interest.
On Sunday (Nov.17) Menon said this while addressing a discussion meeting on Mowlana Bhashani organized by Bangladesh Workers’ party in connection with his 43rd death anniversary at Jatiyo Press Club.
He said that we have forgotten Mowlana Bhashani politically. Due to the erosion of values, the power of the state went to the hands of anti- state elements. They were given many facilities. He further said that BNP-Jamaat clique wanted to use him branding him as the leader of Muslim nationalism.
He said that Mowlana Bhashani was the first man who demanded in a public meeting to withdraw the voting rights of razakars for 30 years. But we did opposite things. We gave back their voting rights and paved the way to take the rein of the state power.
Noted researcher and columnist Syed Abul Maksud and educationist Mezbah Kamal among others were present.
