The quota of Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have been increased by 10 thousand. In the next year 1 lakh 37 thousand 191 people will get opportunity to perform hajj.

On Wednesday (Dec.4) morning the first meting of the Hajj contract for 2020. State minister for Religious affairs Shaikh Mohammad Abdullah led Bangladesh delegation held meetings with Hajj and Umrah state minister Doctor Abdul Fattah bin Solaiman Mashat led Saudi delegation.  

After the meeting the matter was confirmed to by Shahdat Hossain Taslim, president of Hajj agencies association of Bangladesh(HUB).

It may be mentioned here that on the basis of population the Saudi authority gives allocation of Hajj quota. During last few years under Government and private management 1 lakh 27 thousand 198 people were allowed to perform Hajj. Bangaldesh was demanding enhancement of quota for the last few years. This time the Saudi authority accepted the demand and accordingly increased 10 thousand pilgrims.  

Subject to sight of moon the Hajj of 2020 will be held on August 1. The hajj flight from Bangladesh will start from June 25.
