15 lakh India bound visas were issued in outgoing 2019
A large number of people from Bangladesh are moving to India because of medical, travel and business purposes. This number is increasing every year. Fifteen lakh Indian visas have been issued this year. Every day people are submitting applications for Indian visas.
Never before such huge number of visas were issued in past times. The Indian Visa Center will be organizing a special event next Tuesday (Dec.31) to commemorate the record number of visa issuance years. Indian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das will hand over the passport with Indian visa to three freedom fighters at the Indian Visa Center at Jamuna Future Park at 10:30 a.m on that day.
Bangladeshis’ travel to India are increasing every year as visa process is simplified. According to the Indian High Commission's estimate, from January 2018 to March 31 of 2019, 1crore 37 lakh 30 thousand 282 foreigners India.
Of this, the number of Bangladeshis is 28 lakh 37 thousand. At the same time, there are 18 lakh 63 thousand of the United States, 13 lakh 69 thousand of the United Kingdom, 4 lakh 18 thousand of Canada, 4,51 736 of Sri Lanka, 4 lakh 44 thousand 33 thousand of Australia, 4,011,50 of Malaysia, 3 lakh 77 thousand 83 of Russia, 3 lakh 75 thousand 449 are of China and 3 lakh 60 thousand 843 German toured India. Of the total tourists in India 65.61 percent Bangladeshis visited India during the same time.
During this time, a total of 1,982 foreign nationals were sent back to the country. In that list, the second highest number of 491 citizens of Bangladesh were sent back to the country. India has the highest number of 847 Nigerians expelled. There are also 124 citizens of Somalia expelled. Bangladesh came in the top in 2015 in terms of the number of foreign nationals traveling in India. Earlier, it was second in 2014 and third in 2013, 2012. This number will increase further by the end of this year.
