Celebration of Countdown of Mujib Borsho is going on in Faridpur
Celebrating the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the festival is going on in Faridpur. Deputy Commissioner Atul Sarkar has announced that the festivities will be held with the collective arrangements of all government offices of the district including Faridpur district Administration and district Awami League.
Next March 17 is the birthday of Bangabandhu. On this occasion, Mujib Borsho count down has began on Friday (Jan. 10), as else where in the country.It is to be noted that Bangabandhu returned from the Pakistani jail on this day.
The day is being celebrated in Faridpur participated by various organizations in festive atmosphere. On the occasion of the observance, the program of the day started with a bicycle rally at around 10 a.m participated by the people of all sections. More than three hundred people, including teenagers, youth, youth, and elderly participated in the bicycle rally. The bicycle rally started from Sheikh Jamal Stadium.
After this, two competitions participated by the children on painting and the speech of Bangabandhu of March 7, 1971 was held at DC office premises. Later on Deputy Commissioner Atul Sarker handed over the awards to the winners.
Around 10-30 a.m a colorful rally was brought out in the town participated the freedom fighters, local political leaders, elite, government and non-government officials, employees and children. The rally started from the premises of the Deputy Commissioner's Office and returned to the same venue after walking throughout the town.
Deputy Commissioner Atul Sarker, Superintendent of Police, Alimuzzaman, Zilla Parishad Chairman Lokman Hossain, Government Rajendra College Principal Mosharraf Ali, freedom fighter commander Abul Faiz, educationalist Prof. Shahjahan, Faridpur Press Club President Imtiaz Hassan Rubel, Awami League President Subal Chandra Saha and leaders of the party's organization were present.
