Bangabandhu gave us independence: Foreign Minister
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman gave us independence and his daughter Sheikh Hasina has given digital Bangladesh.
He said this in the final phase of the Startup World Cup Bangladesh Region, the world's largest startup competition, at the Radisson Blue Water Garden Hotel in the capital on Saturday (Feb. 8).
Speaking as the chief guest, the foreign minister said Bangladesh will become a developed country by 2041 with the help of Sheikh Hasina. For the young people, he said, we have huge potential in the IT sector. I will tell the younger generation to establish a reputation in these sectors to earn a fame both at home and in abroad.
Minister of State for Information and Communications Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said the number of Internet users in Bangladesh is increasing. Now no one is jobless and everyone is using the internet to create jobs. We are providing all kinds of support to the entrepreneurs that are being created using the internet from our place.
He also said that when the first startup program was launched in 2016. Then its competitors were very few. This time we had five thousand applications, of which eight participated in the final phase.
Gauge Technology has become champion in the final of the Startup World Cup 2020 Bangladesh, the second runner up of the competition will be the Track Lagbey and the third runner up is Alter Youth.
Six teams participated in the final competition of Bangladesh phase held in Dhaka. Earlier, eight teams competing at the end of the online screening round and the preliminary judging round participated today. Those who have participated are - Alter Youth, Cookups, Gauge, Parking Quay, Puppets, Sigmind Dot AI, Tarun Digital and Track Lagbey.
