‘Don't run after jobs, be entrepreneurs’- Prime Minister
From JS Bhavan: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the youth of the country should leave the tendency to run after jobs better try for create self-employment and create employment for others as entrepreneurs.
On Wednesday (Feb. 12) the Prime Minister said this while responding to a number of supplementary questions from the treasury and opposition MPs during a thirty-minute question-and-answer session scheduled for the Prime Minister at the Jatiyo Sangsad session chaired by Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.
For the youth, Sheikh Hasina said her government has so far created 2 crore employment opportunities in the country. But there is a trend among many youths and students in the country such that when they finish their studies they fall in search of jobs. Why should everyone run after job? Rather the educated youths of this country should be self-employed and arrange for employment of others by doing business and other independent work like engaging themselves in farming. They are entrepreneurial and provide jobs for others.
The leader of the House also said, "Where the boys are going, whom they are meeting, whether they are going to class properly, whether they are engaging in drugs and militancy, they need to be monitored." Through various training on Islam, they are being made aware of the misinterpretation of religion and adverse effect of militancy. The government is taking appropriate action against these three - terrorism, militancy and drugs. The spread of the drug has been greatly reduced due to the various steps and anti-drug drives of her government. And the drives will continue, she said.
