‘Without India Mujib Borsho does not get completeness’
Without the participation of India the Mujib Borsho celebration will not get completeness, said Information Minister Dr. Hassan Mahmud.
He made the remarks at a press conference on contemporary political issues in the Information Ministry meeting room on Tuesday (March 3) at noon.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present at the inauguration of the birth centenary function of the Father of the Nation. He was invited several months ago and he accepted the invitation. If any country has a single contribution to Bangladesh's independence struggle then it is India. One crore people of Bangladesh took shelter there. India had helped us in every way.
The then Indian government and the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had gone to different countries for the release of Bangabandhu. Due to that International pressure and world opinion, Pakistan was forced to release Bangabandhu. That is why Modi has been invited in the Mujib Borsho. The neighboring states have been invited. If India does not participate in the celebration of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu, I think the celebration will not be not get its entirety. India's participation is very important, the minister added.
Hasan Mahmud said what has happened in India, what has not happened, is the internal matter of India. There is no such situation in Bangladesh that can raise questions about the joining of the Prime Minister of India. Those who raise this question - BNP, their main politics is to oppose India. Opposition to India is the main subject of their politics. Mirza Fakhrul and gong raised this question as the continuation of their politics.
Replying to a question on what the government was thinking about the declaration to resist Modi he said we think there is a communal force in Bangladesh who is always doing anti-politics and trying to incite communalism. They are doing it on their behalf. Government of India has been invited here. It is not a matter for us to consider which Indian government is in power, the Prime Minister of India has been invited.
