Call centers, hotlines received 12 lakh calls on coronavirus
Over the past two weeks, 3 lakh 70 thousand people have made calls to various government call centers to know about coronavirus. And since the launching of various hotlines in the country, so far, there have been more than 12 lakh calls.
The government has given the opportunity to learn about corona by calling government call center 333, government information portal number 16263 and mobile operator number *3332# launched in last week.
In all these platforms, 3 lakh 70 thousand people have been found who contacted with the some symptoms of corono.
Anir Chowdhury, senior policy fellow of access to Information (a2i) of ICT division disclosed this at a press conference on Thursday (April 2).
Mobile phone operator Robi has come up with data analytics skills to help the government cope with the coronavirus pandemic. Robi, in partnership with the Government's a2i of ICT division,
Cabinet division and the Health Department have set up a data analytics system that is effective in dealing with emergencies in public health. The press conference was organized to launch that analytics system.
Anir said that four lakh calls have been received about corona till now 333. One lakh 70 thousand to *16263# and 7 lakh calls were received by *3332#.
Now with the use of technology it is possible to make a short list from these calls. From there the government will decide whose corona test will be done.
He said that because of the toll free, there are also many nonsense calls at call centers. He urged upon customers not to make such calls.
We are dealing with something very serious. Now everyone should help in this, Anir said.
At the press conference State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said that the data used by Robi will be used in a very controlled way and under no circumstances the data will be shared out side.
Director General of the Department of Health Prof. Abul Kalam Azad, Managing Director of Robi Mahtab Uddin Ahmed spoke on the occasion.
