Beximco’s Remdesivir will be available in hospitals from Saturday
Dhaka: The Directorate of Health has completed preparations to reach the world's first approved generic Remdesivir in corona specialized hospitals given to the health ministry by Beximco Pharmaceuticals.
On Saturday (May 23), one thousand Remdesivir will reach corona specialized hospitals which will be used in the treatment of critically ill patients with corona disease.
According to the Directorate of Health on Thursday (May 21) after the process of handing over one thousand Remdesivir vials to specialized hospitals of the country.
Additional Director General of Health (Administration) Professor Nasima Sultana told Barta24.com that the directorate of Drug Administration and the directorate of Health have started working to reach the vaccine in the hospitals.
Dr. Aminul Hasan, director of the hospital branch of the health directorate told Barta24.com that all the activities of sending 1,000 Remdesivir vaccine to the hospitals have already been taken. It is expected that the Remdesivir will reach the corona specialized hospitals on Saturday. With these one thousand free Remdesivir treatment will be provided to the critically ill patients suffering from corona.
Earlier on Thursday (May 21), Beximco Pharmaceuticals handed over the world's first approved generic Remdesivir to the Ministry of Health. Beximco Pharma Managing Director Nazmul Hasan Papon handed over the sample medicine to Health Minister Zahid Malek.
At the handing over of the samples, Health Minister Zahid Malek said that nowhere in the world has a vaccine or medicine been produced to cure 100% of corona patients. Evidence has been found that the drug is effective in several countries, including the United States. It has been approved by the directorate of drug administration for emergency treatment. Coronavirus patients will be treated with this drug on the advice of pharmacologists.
