Allegations of fraud against Naryanganj LabAid hospital
Naryanganj: In Narayanganj, a private hospital LabAid has been accused of irregularities in the collection of corona test samples. Narayanganj district civil surgeon Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed has stopped the collection of samples by LabAid knowing the fact of cheating with the patients.
On Tuesday (July 21) at 8 pm, the district civil surgeon gave written instructions to LabAid to stop collecting samples.
According to the concerned sources, LabAid used to take Taka 4,500 to collect the corona sample at home. But ignoring that condition, the potential patient has to come to the government booth and give the sample. The district health department took immediate action after receiving allegations of harassment despite spending extra money.
According to the Civil Surgeon's Office, samples were collected at the government booth on the ground floor of the newly constructed CGM building in Narayanganj city. The government fee for collecting and testing samples at this booth is Taka 200.

On Tuesday (July 21) morning, even though he was not on duty, he wanted to come to the booth and find out if any patient has come from LabAid. At this time, the person who came for the test from LabAid submitted the receipt and arranged to collect his sample.
When the information reached the district civil surgeon's office, the civil surgeon said Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed and Corona Focal Person Dr. Jahidul Islam went to the booth and found the truth of the allegation.
These officers of the district health department then conducted an operation at the Narayanganj branch of LabAid in Chashara and learnt that the technicians they have already collected samples of patients from LabAid at the government booth in Kalirbazar.
LabAid fired two technicians, Johnny and Ripon, involved in the scam.
Narayanganj LabAid branch manager Sohail said, ‘These two people caused this incident to us beyond our kinowledge. We have taken action against them.’
Narayanganj Civil Surgeon Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed said a letter has been sent to LabAid Narayanganj branch to stop sample collection. According to LabAid, they do not know about collecting samples from outside. If they disobey government orders, legal action will be taken against them.
