BNP demands ration for workers

BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan demanded launching of rationing system for workers during Covid-19 pandemic.

He made the demand at a rally organized by Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal on the occasion of historic May Day in front of the national press club on Saturday.

Various units of Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal took part at the rally with banners and festoons.

Nazrul Islam Khan said, "We have demanded rationing system for workers. It is not a new one. Rationing system for workers has been prevailing since British era. Rationing shops and fair price shops were available at factories where we worked. Rationing system and fair price shops should be introduced for workers and labors during the ongoing corona situation."

The senior leader of the BNP demanded recognition of eight hours' job for workers and assurance of rights of trade union besides unconditional release of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal president Anwar Hossain presided over the program while its publication secretary Manzurul Islam Manzur moderated the rally.

BNP organizing secretary Syed Emran Saleh Prince, assistant organizing secretary Abdus Salam Azad were present among others.
