Awami League’s month-long program in mourning August

Bangladesh Awami League will hold a month-long program on the 46th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day. Besides, the party has decided to carry out all these programs to a limited extent and in compliance with strict hygiene rules.

The month-long August program includes: Wreath-laying at the portrait of heroic freedom fighter Sheikh Kamal at the Abahani Club premises at 8:30 am on the occasion of Sheikh Kamal's birthday on August 5 followed by tribute to Banani graveyard at 9:15 am. Tributes wii be paid to Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib on August 8 at 9 am at Banani graveyard.

Tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of National Mourning Day on August 15 at 8:30 am at Dhanmondi No. 32. Paying tributes at Banani graveyard at 9:15 am. A delegation of Awami League will pay homage at the grave of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara at 11 am.

In addition, special prayers will be held in all mosques, temples, churches and pagodas of the country on the occasion of National Mourning Day on August 15. Discussion meetings on National Mourning Day on 16 August at 3:30 pm. Discussion meeting organized by Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Awami League on the occasion of August 17 series bomb attacks.

Tributes will be paid to the central office premises of Awami League at 23 Bangabandhu Avenue at 9 am on the occasion of worst Grenade Attack Day on August 21. Discussion meeting at 3:30 pm. Also, on the occasion of the death anniversary of the national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam on August 26, tribute will be paid to the poet at the Dhaka University Mosque premises at 9 am.

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader called for the implementation of the announced program keeping in mind the high level of infection and maintaining the seriousness of the program.
