‘BNP is participating election to free Khaleda Zia’- Taposh
Awami League nominated DSCC candidate Barrister Fazle Nur Taposh has alleged that the two candidates nominated by the BNP in Dhaka's two city elections have not come to provide any civic amenities to the citizens but to ensure the release of their jailed leader Khaleda Zia. They are terming the election as a movement demanding the release of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia. Therefore, they will not understand miseries of the people of Dhaka city, Taposh said.
He said this at a way side rally before the start of campaign on Monday (Jan. 20) at 2 pm at Jhorpukur in Khilgaon.
During his speech, Tapas added, "We are doing election with a specific manifesto. So far, our election manifesto has been well accepted by the people of the city. People are participating in our campaign spontaneously. Within the next two to three days, our full manifesto will be published. Keeping in mind all the amenities and facilities of the people of Dhaka, we have announced that it will play an important role in building a vibrant and environmentally friendly Dhaka.
The activists of local Awami League and all other affiliated bodies were present at the election campaign in Khilgaon area from noon 2 pm.
