58% ADP implemented in first 11 months of the fiscal year

In the first 11 months (July-May) of the current fiscal year (2020-21), 58.36 percent of the Annual Development Program (ADP) has been implemented. In terms of money, the amount is about Tk. one lakh 22 thousand 131 crore. The overall ADP implementation has been slow due to Corona.

This information has been learnt from the Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) of the Ministry of Planning.

In the current financial year, the government is implementing a revised ADP worth Tk. 2 lakh 9 thousand 72 crore. Of this, Tk. 19,401 crore was spent on ADP allocation in May.

According to IMED sources, the ADP implementation rate has been slightly higher this year than last year. Last year, the ADP implementation rate was 57.37 percent, which is Tk.1 lakh 15 thousand 421 crore. The total ADP allocation for the 2019-20 financial year was Tk. 2,11,999 crore.

Due to Corona, the implementation of ADP has been slow this year as well. For example, in the financial year 2018-19, the total allocation was Tk. 1 lakh 8 thousand 620 crore. At the same time, the ADP implementation rate was 67.97 percent, amounting to Tk. 1 lakh 20 thousand 42 crore. In the 2016-17 financial year, the total ADP allocation was Tk. 1 lakh 56 thousand 594 crore. Till May, the implementation rate was 62 percent, amounting to Tk. 98,096 crore. In the 2016-17 financial year, the total size of ADP was Tk.1 lakh 19 thousand 298 crore. Till May, the implementation rate was 64 percent, amounting to Tk. 6,204 crore.

Of the 15 largely allocated ministries and departments, the most frustrating state is the healthcare department. The least progress has been made in this section. ADP has been implemented in the healthcare sector by 31.38 percent, amounting to Tk. 3,859 crore. The total allocation for 53 projects was Tk. 11,989 crore. In the remaining one month, the healthcare department will have to spend Tk. 7220 crore. The current financial year will end on June 30. At this time, if you want to implement 100% ADP, you will have to spend Tk. 87 thousand 141 crore.
