Commerce Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed said that the United States is positive to give GSP (Generalized System of Preferences) facilities to Bangladesh.
He said this after the 146th meeting of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and 59th Board of Directors of Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute at the Secretariat on Sunday (September 8) at noon.
Expressing the hope of getting GSP facility, the Commerce Adviser said, America is positive about giving GSP facility to Bangladesh.
Stating that the export income has increased by 12.4 percent in the last financial year, he said that from now on, initiatives have been taken to ensure that there are no more discrepancies in the export data. We need to reduce our dependence on one or two products. He said that export products should be diversified.
The next trade fair will start in January next year, said Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed.
