None of the 29 people aboard the missing plane have survived on Russia's eastern Kamchatka Peninsula. Russia's Emergency Situations Department has found the wreckage of the AN-27, the country's news agency RIA reported.

The news agency Reuters reported on Tuesday (July 6).

Authorities said they found the wreckage five miles away from the airport.

Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry said the plane went missing on its way from the main city of Kamchatka, Pedrapavlovsk-Kamchatsky, to the peninsular town of Palana. The plane crashed into the sea as it could not land on time due to hostile weather and lack of light.

Palana Mayor Olga Mokhireva was also with the passengers on the aircraft. Authorities are investigating whether the plane crashed due to bad weather or some other reason.

It is learned that several ships have taken part in the rescue operation.
