India's lunar mission Chandrayaan-3 has taken the first image of the moon and sent it to Earth.

On Sunday (August 6), the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) tweeted pictures of the moon sent by Chandrayaan-3. Earlier, India's space agency ISRO announced the successful entry of Chandrayaan-3 into lunar orbit on Saturday (August 5) evening.

It was dark all around. There is a gray sphere in it. More and more parts of the lunar surface have been caught in the picture.

Earlier, on July 14, Chandrayaan-3 was successfully launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, India. ISRO scientists hope that it will be able to land a rover near the south pole of the moon on August 23 or 24.

If this mission is successful, India will be the first country in the world to start research work on the South Pole of the Moon. People still know very little about that part of the moon. Before this, only US, Soviet Union and Chinese spacecraft managed to land safely on the lunar surface.

ISRO informed on Saturday that it changed orbit when the distance between the moon and Chandrayaan-3 was the least. Later on the work to reduce the orbital distance will be done.

The scientists will then slowly decelerate and guide the spacecraft to a specific location, from where Vikram's landing phase will begin. Lander Vikram will separate from Chandrayaan-3's orbiter and land on the lunar soil at a certain time.

The time of landing must be very specific, at the exact beginning of a lunar day because the Lander and Rover will need sunlight to charge the batteries.

It will take a total of 40 days for Chandrayaan-3 to reach the moon from Earth. Saturday completed the 22nd day of it.
