India has expressed the hope that the upcoming Jatiyo Sangsad elections in Bangladesh will be held peacefully. Besides, they also want the polls to be held at the scheduled time in Bangladesh.
Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said this in response to a question about the election situation in Bangladesh at the weekly briefing of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs on Friday (August 11).
In the briefing, a journalist from The Hindu asked several questions about the continuous agitation of the opposition party BNP around the national election of Bangladesh, the demand for the formation of a caretaker government during the election and the possibility of third party interference in the election.
In response to this, Arindam Bagchi said that a few days ago, he had informed the attitude of the Indian government in response to the question. That attitude remains unchanged.
