Nasreen Al-Fadel, the schoolteacher of the classmates, told the BBC this information. He taught Arabic and French at a school in the village of Adasil in the city of Marrakesh.

Nasreen said, immediately after the earthquake, the school children came to my mind because my school is near the origin of the earthquake. Immediately I rushed to Adasil village.

Narrating the dire situation that day, Nasreen said, "I went to the village and started asking about my children (students). Where is Soumya? Where is Yusuf? Where are my daughters and sons? The village people were silent for a long time and the answer came that they are all dead.

Nasreen is devastated by losing 32 students together. He said, all were between 6 and 12 years old. Last Friday (September 8) night I took their class for the last time. The earthquake struck just five hours later. Just floating in the imagination, standing with the attendance book in hand and calling the names of 32 students one by one.

 Khadija is one of Nasreen's students. Nasreen came to know about her death in the earthquake from her relatives. She said Khadija was my favorite. She was very beautiful, smart, active and loved to sing. She used to come to my house, and I loved to study and talk with him.

According to government statements, a total of 530 educational institutions have been damaged in varying degrees, some of which have completely collapsed. Schools in the worst-hit areas have temporarily closed classes.

About 3,000 people lost their lives in the powerful earthquake.
