US President Joe Biden is visiting Israel on Wednesday (October 18) amidst the war with the Palestinian independence armed group Hamas.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken made the announcement from Tel Aviv early Tuesday (October 16) local time.

Blinken said the US president's visit comes at an important moment for Israel, the Middle East and the world.

Analysts believe that the visit to Israel at this time is a risk for Biden's security. However, the White House refused to comment on this matter.

He also said Biden's visit will reaffirm US solidarity with Israel and Washington's commitment to the security of Jerusalem. He condemned the October 7 attack by Hamas, which killed 1,400 people, including 30 Americans.

The US Secretary of State said Biden will hear directly from Israel about what they need to defend themselves.

US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said at a press conference that Biden will land in Tel Aviv on Wednesday. Biden's visit reaffirms our solidarity with Israel and opens the way for aid to civilians in Gaza.

He also said Biden would also work to create a safe way for civilians to leave Gaza if they wanted.

After his visit to Israel, the US President will go to Amman, Jordan, he said. There he will meet with King Abdullah of Jordan, President Al-Sisi of Egypt and President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine.
