19 people of the 23 lakh inhabitants of Gaza are now refugees due to the barbaric attacks of Israel in two consecutive months. The United Nations Refugee Agency UNHCR organized the Global Refugee Forum on Wednesday to help these refugees.

At the forum, representatives of the participating countries called for an immediate ceasefire to stop the increasingly disastrous situation in occupied Palestine. It also announced a grant to aid Gaza refugees.

Qatar's Minister of State for International Relations, Lolwa Al Khatir, said Qatar has pledged 50 million dollars in aid to Gaza refugees. This money will be spent on refugees, wounded and orphans affected by Israeli aggression.

He also said that in addition to financial support, his government will provide merit scholarships to 100 students from Gaza to study at Qatar University.

Filippo Grandi said that the events that have been happening since October 7 are beyond the authority of UNHCR. But every day we see more civilian death and suffering and more displacement that threatens the region, he added.

In addition, calling for the release of the hostages held by the High Commissioner Hamas, he said he believed that a genuine dialogue would be initiated that would "bring real peace and security to the people of Israel and Palestine."
