A recent poll found that 52 percent of Israelis support immediate action against Hezbollah.

A poll conducted in late November found that 52 percent of Israelis favored an immediate operation against Hezbollah. On the other hand, only 35 percent people are against the start of this war.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has canceled the proposal of war with Hezbollah because if the conflict takes a regional form, Iran may also get involved. But a new war between Israel and Hezbollah is inevitable—as Israeli politicians, generals, and the general public firmly believe.

When news of the Hamas attack first broke on the morning of October 7, Itai Rouveni and other emergency paratroopers packed their bags. They left the gathering place before the call from the army. But instead of going to the Gaza border in the south, went to the border in the north. They believed that Hezbollah, a Lebanese armed organization backed by Tehran, is a bigger threat than Hamas.

Master Sergeant Itai Rouveni, 40, studied terrorist financing in civilian life. He said that they have come there to ensure that the incident in the south does not happen in the north. Itai Rouveni also said, "We understand that Hezbollah is much more modern than Hamas." Not only three thousand, but more warriors may come to this border. Besides, Iran will also be in this equation. We have come here to confront them.

It should be noted that not only Reuven sees Hezbollah as a big threat to Israel. After the October 7 attack by Hamas, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant and other hard-line cabinet members advocated a pre-emptive strike against the Lebanese armed group themselves.

The border area has been relatively quiet for the past 17 years since the Israel-Lebanon war in 2006. But the important clauses of the peace accorded to Resolution 1701 adopted by the United Nations Security Council that year were never implemented.
