Fourteen killed by gunman at university in Prague

At least 14 people were killed when a gunman opened fire at a university in the European capital of the Czech Republic, Prague. The attacker was also killed.

The local press The Czech News Agency reported, Thursday (December 21) this incident of shooting occurred at a university in the capital city of Prague named Charles University Faculty of Arts. The university is also known as Prague Arts University.

University students reported the shooting on social media, saying many were still locked in classrooms. Some classrooms are being vacated.

Meanwhile, the Czech police arrived at the scene and cordoned off the entire area. According to the police, they started working on the scene after receiving reports of shootings in the central part of the capital Prague.

Police did not provide details about the death or the circumstances of the gunfight. Prague rescue service spokeswoman Jana Postova confirmed that many people were injured.

The violence in the Czech city's historic center has sparked panic among residents. The country's police have asked people to stay indoors.

Czech Republic Interior Minister Vit Rakusan urged people to follow police instructions.
