Arab Emirates announced the possible date of Ramadan fasting

Muslims all over the world observe the month of Ramadan as a month of self-purification. The Astronomical Organization of the United Arab Emirates has announced the probable date of the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan next year i.e. 2024. The Emirates Astronomical Society (EAS) said that the Holy Ramadan may start in the country on March 11 (Monday) next year, News Daily Khaleej Times.

The country's English daily Khaleej Times reported this information on Monday (December 25) quoting EAS Chairman Ibrahim Al Jarwan.

Ibrahim Al Zarwan said, next year, Ramadan will start in the winter season in the Emirates. Until next year 2031 (1453 Hijri) all fasting months will start in winter. Then fasting will begin in autumn. The month of fasting mainly depends on the sighting of the moon.

According to the report, the start of the fasting month is officially announced by the UAE authorities every year. Astronomical calculations predict only possible dates. Before this, however, the official announcement of the moon sighting committee in Makkah, Saudi Arabia was taken into account.

On December 13, the United Arab Emirates Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities website also announced the possible date of the start of fasting. According to the organization's Hijri calendar, fasting in 2024 could begin on March 12 (Tuesday).

The report also said that next year the fasting time in the UAE will be shorter than in 2023. Could be 13 hours 16 minutes; the last time will reach in 14 hours. This year the fasting time in the country was from 13 hours 33 minutes to 14 hours 16 minutes. Next year there may be 29 fasts. In that case, the fast in the Emirates will end on April 8. And Eid-ul-Fitr may be held on April 9.
