Extreme tension has been prevailing in Pakistan since the 16th National Assembly elections were held on February 8. As the period of government formation is coming to an end, one after another dramatic events are happening in the country.

In this situation, on Thursday (February 15), a report by Pakistan's news media, The News, said that a senior leader of PML-N, Khawaja Saad Rafique, called for the formation of an all-party government at the center to protect political stability and harmony.

According to the news, the former Union Minister of Pakistan said on the micro blogging site X (formerly Twitter), that since no single party has got an absolute majority in the national elections, all parties can form a government at the center.

According to the constitution of Pakistan, the government must be formed by February 29. From this obligation, political polarization and one after another decision making and change is happening in Pakistan.

The Muslim League (Nawaz)-PML-N, along with the Bilwal Bhutto-led Pakistan People's Party (PPP), are vying to form governments at the Centre, Punjab and Balochistan. Despite the compromise, the final decision is still delayed.

In a compromise between the two parties, the name of Shehbaz Sharif was proposed as the Prime Minister from the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) in the central government of Pakistan. Along with this, PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari will serve as the President, it was informed to the media on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan-led party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) informed that PTI will sit in the opposition seat in the National Assembly. But after that decision was made on Wednesday that changed dramatically on Thursday. The party nominated Omar Ayub as the next Prime Minister of Pakistan.

It should be noted that in the elections held on February 8, Imran Khan's PTI and its independent candidates won 101 seats, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won 75 seats and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's Pakistan People's Party won 54 seats.
