Dangerous temperature rise in Southeast Asia, closures of schools announced

Temperatures are rising at an alarming rate in the Southeast Asian countries of Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. The weather department said that the temperature will increase further in April.

Temperatures are rising in Southeast Asia now. This temperature can range from 45 to 46 degree Celsius in this month. In the meantime, schools in Malaysia have been ordered to stop all educational activities outside the classroom since March 23. Director General of the Department of Health Dr. Razdi Abu Hasan said that if the heat rises, the Ministry of Education may announce the closure of schools if necessary.

Elderly and children are advised not to go out unnecessarily as they are at risk. Due to the risk of heatstroke, it is advised to drink extra water. Perlis experiences the most heat wave in Malaysia.

The director general of the health department said that the country's health ministry is working according to heat wave health risk management action plan and heat wave action plan.

The Meteorological Department of Thailand said the temperature will reach 43 to 45 degrees Celsius in April. A glimpse of Nor’wester storm has also been given.

The Meteorological Department said on Monday (March 3) that the temperature will rise significantly this week. There will be scorching heat especially in North East and Eastern regions. Chance of rain is also low. Temperatures in these two regions will rise to 41 to 43 degrees Celsius this week.

The directorate said that even if there is a Nor’wester storm in the southern region, the weather will not be dangerous for tourists. In the Southeast Asian country of the Philippines, physical attendance classes have already been announced closed in about 1,000 schools.

On Sunday (March 2), the country's Ministry of Education announced that schools have been closed for a week. If the temperature continues to rise, this closure period may increase. Many offices have also exempted employees from physical presence and mandated work from home due to rising temperatures and warmth.

In April, the temperature of the country can reach a maximum of 52 degrees Celsius, said the Meteorological Department.
