Hamas eventually agreed to a revised version of the US-proposed deal. The group has dropped key demands in ongoing negotiations for a ceasefire agreement. This gave new hope for a cease-fire agreement in Gaza.

Gaza was controlled by the Palestinian armed group Hamas before the war began with an attack on Israel on October 7. However, they are said to have given preliminary approval to dropping the main demands of the ceasefire agreement.

Hamas and an Egyptian official reported the information on Saturday (July 6). In addition, Hamas is waiting for Israel's response to this proposal. Two Hamas officials reported this information on Sunday (July 7).

A senior US official said Hamas had responded to the proposal, which could end the deal. The first phase of the ceasefire may start from November. And through this, 9 months of devastating war is going to end.

There may be further discussion on this. But all parties cautioned that a deal is still far from certain.

Meanwhile, an Israeli airstrike on a school in the Gaza Strip killed at least 16 people and injured many others. Palestinian officials said this.

Israel carried out such an attack in the midst of negotiations on a ceasefire. The building housed hundreds of thousands of displaced people in a refugee camp in central Gaza, the Hamas-controlled health ministry said.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they attacked some infrastructure in the Al Zawni school area, from where the terrorists were operating. On the other hand, another 10 people were reported dead in a separate attack on a house in the refugee camp. According to the BBC, as many as 7,000 people took shelter in the building.

On the other hand, 9 months of Israel-Hamas war completed on Sunday. Gaza's health ministry says more than 38,000 Palestinians have been killed so far in counter-attacks launched in response to Hamas attacks in southern Israel.

1,200 Palestinians were killed in Hamas attacks that day. At this time, armed fighters took about 250 hostages to Gaza.
