Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has ordered Iran to directly attack Israel in retaliation for the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
The New York Times reported this information on Thursday (October 31).
Khamenei gave this order at an emergency meeting of Iran's Supreme National Security Council on Wednesday (July 31) morning. Although the New York Times report said that Iran would not carry out this retaliatory attack before the US elections. However, other media outlets have said that the attack could take place before the November 5 elections.
Iran and Hamas have been accusing Israel of killing Ismail Haniyeh. However, the Jewish state has neither admitted nor denied whether Israel was involved in the death of Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated while attending the inauguration of Iran's new president.
Meanwhile, following this incident, Iran launched 181 ballistic missiles at Israel on October 1. In response, the occupying Israeli air force attacked various places in Iran on October 26. It is believed that several important Iranian infrastructures were damaged.
Although Iran initially claimed that they did not suffer much damage in the Israeli attack. However, after observing the intensity of the attack and the death of four soldiers, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told security forces on Monday that Israel must respond to this attack. Otherwise, they will be considered 'defeated'.
Unrest has already begun across Israel over this inevitable attack. Netanyahu's Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem and the Israeli Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv are at risk of a possible Iranian attack.
