A plane carrying 181 people crashed at Muan Airport in South Korea, killing 179 people. Only two survived.

The country's news agency Yonhap reported this information on Sunday (December 29).

The report said that the accident occurred on Sunday when a Boeing 737-800 operated by Jeju Air was landing at Muan International Airport. The plane had 175 passengers and six flight attendants from Thailand.

Meanwhile, a video of the plane skidding off the runway while landing at the airport has been circulating on social media. The video shows the plane skidding off the runway and crashing into a wall during landing.

The plane caught fire immediately after the crash.

South Korean acting President Choi Sang-mok has ordered an all-out rescue effort. His chief of staff has also called an emergency meeting to discuss the incident. The crash is believed to have been caused by a landing gear malfunction caused by a bird strike.
