Dhaka: The World Health Organization (WHO) said no need to wear a face mask if the a person is not infected or not in contact from coronavirus (Covid-19) person.
The Organization's senior official said at a press conference held at the World Health Organization's headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland on Monday (March 30). Mike Ryan provided the information, according to CNN
He said, there is no evidence that a person having no corona infection has a specific benefit from wearing a mask. On the contrary, different results were found for not using the mask properly.
To the medical staff, Ryan said the pandemic has caused a huge crisis in medical equipments around the world. Those who provide medical care to the virus are at most risk. It is dangerous for not have their masks or to use them properly.
At that time, the specialist doctor of the infectious disease department Dr. Maria Van Karkov said, as long as you are not infected, we will not ask you to wear a mask. However, she added that proper and healthy masks are mandatory for those who are infected by Covid-I9 or who are working to heal an infected person.
