Dhaka: A clear documentary of Major (Rtd) Sinha Rashed Khan murder has been found, said Lieutenant Colonel Ashiq Billah, head of the media wing of the RAB.
Ashiq Billah said RAB investigators had received a clear documentary on the Sinha murder case. The investigation is proceeding on the basis of that information.
He made the remarks at a briefing in Cox's Bazaar on Wednesday (August 19).
He said that the investigating officer of RAB has received all the clues of Major (Rtd.) Sinha murder case in the hand of police. The 29 proofs seized from Nilima Resort will be taken from Ramu Thana on Thursday. The RAB will be completely relieved of pressure and will investigate the case impartially.
The RAB official said that the police did not provide CCTV footage of Teknaf police station from July 25 to August 6 due to technical faults. Discusssion is going on about the matter.
Meanwhile, the first seven will be produced in court on Thursday after their remand. The information of those remanded in the first phase is being checked and verified from the accused who will be remanded in the second phase, said RAB.
Major (Retd.) Sinha was shot dead at Shamlapur check post on the night of July 31 on his way back to Nilima Resort in Himchhari area of Cox's Bazar on Marine Drive after filming a video on Marishbunia hill in Teknaf. At that time, the police arrested Sifat who was with Sinha and sent him to jail. Shipra was later apprehended from the resort. Both are currently out on bail. There are three witnesses in Cox’s Bazaar jail in the case filed by police officers, members and police including OC Pradeep. Among them, 4 policemen and 3 witnesses are being remanded in custody.
