A mobile court of the RAB has sealed another hospital including Nurjahan Orthopedics Hospital in the capital on charges of cheating in the name of providing better treatment.

On Wednesday (October 28), a mobile court of the RAB conducted a five-hour operation at hospitals in Mohammadpur and Shyamoli areas of the capital. RAB Executive Magistrate Palash Kumar Basu conducted the operation in collaboration with the Directorate of Health and RAB-2.

At the end of the operation, he said, the patients were allured from different government hospitals through the Syndicates at Babar Road Hospital in Shyamoli and Mohammadpur Police Stations of the capital promising to provide better treatment at low cost. They use different techniques to bring in patients. One of which is giving wrong information about government hospitals.

Palash Kumar Bose said, Director of Crescent Hospital Haji Mohammad Abul Hossain aged 50 studied up to HSC. The director of the hospital saw the X-rays of the broken limbs of the patients and decided on the operation himself.

Crescent Hospital's approval also expired four more months ago. On the basis of these allegations, Abul Hossain was sentenced to one year imprisonment and the hospital was warned. Ordinary people from different parts of the country come to the government hospital in Dhaka for treatment. They are mostly economically weak. These are the ones who fall into the clutches of all these brokers.

The RAB Executive Magistrate said the operation was carried out at the Mecca-Medina Hospital at the beginning of the operation. Director Noor Nabi does not have any medical certificate or approval. He is sitting in his room watching the patients and giving them prescriptions. Patients with serious injuries, including fractures, are being given various suggestions for surgery which he cannot give in any way.

The mobile court sentenced the hospital's director Nur Nabi to one year in prison and Anwar Hossain Kalu and his accomplice Abdur Rashid to six months in prison. The Mecca-Medina hospital has also been sealed.

"We want people not to be deceived in the name of treatment by HSC pass doctors with their hard-earned money," he added. Such malpractice is very dangerous for people's money and life. It has been sealed in the public interest. The total report will be sent to the Ministry of Health through the officials of the Directorate of Health to cancel their license.
