BARVIDA Leaders had meeting with BRTA Chairman

BARVIDA (Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association) leaders submitted proposals to work jointly with BRTA to control road accidents and improving the transport system of dhaka. The BARVIDA Leaders demanded to demolish the ‘dual registration system’ which is currently active in the country for once the importers and then for the car buyers. The business leaders requested the BRTA Chairman to control importing of substandard commercial vehicles and to develop the R&D (Research and Development) wing of BRTA. Besides they praised the quick service of BRTA registration and fitness of the vehicles.

The observations came at a meeting today (4-11-2020) with the Chairman of BRTA Mr. Nur Mohammad Majumdar at his office.

BARVIDA President Mr. Abdul Haque led the delegation. Secretary General Mr. Mohammed Shahidul Islam, Vice President Mr. Mohd. Saiful Islam (Samrat), Treasurer Mr. Mohammed Anisur Rahman and Cultural Secretary Mr. Benazir Ahmed attended the meeting.

The BRTA Chairman accepted the BARVIDA proposals positively and assured them of implementing those as soon as possible. He, however formed a sub-committee and instructed it to work on the ‘dual registration system’ within existing law.

Khandaker Aliour Rahman, Secretary of BRTA, Mr. Azizul Islam, Director (Admin.) and the high officials of BRTA also attended at the meeting.
