Four Bangladeshis killed in Mauritius road crash

Four Bangladeshis have been killed in a road accident in Port Louis, capital of the Mauritius. Eighteen Bangladeshis were injured. The condition of one of them is critical while they were traveling in a bus.

The accident took place on Thursday (November 5) near Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius.

Ambassador Rezina Ahmed told the media that the bus was going to the company office with more than 50 Bangladeshi workers working in a construction company called Hivek Limited. Then this accident occurred. Three of them died on the spot and another died on the way to the hospital. Besides, eight people are in the hospital. One of them is in critical condition. 512 Bangladeshi workers are working in that organization.

Due to the coronavirus infection, the air traffic is still completely closed. The embassy said the bodies of the four killed under special arrangements would be sent home as soon as possible.

It is to be mentioned here that about 25,000 Bangladeshis work in the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius.
