All of you have to keep a watchful eye so that the highway of development that Bangladesh is running at a breakneck speed today cannot be obstructed in any way. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that we are determined to remove all obstacles in the way of development.
The Prime Minister said this while addressing the nation on the occasion of the completion of two years of the Awami League-led government on Thursday (January 7).
She said that some unscrupulous people are trying to misappropriate the wealth of the people through various tactics. We have taken a strong stand against corruption. No matter which party is corrupt and no matter how strong, they are not being given concessions and will not be. The Anti-Corruption Commission is performing its duties independently in this regard.
We will do whatever is necessary to ensure the civil and democratic rights of the people while upholding the rule of law, she said.
We have resolutely resisted the rise of militancy, she said. Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. People of all religions and castes have been living here and will continue to do so in the future.
Sheikh Hasina said, it is true that we have come a long way today. We have to go farther. Maybe he's on his way smoothly, maybe he's a friend. Bengali is a nation of heroes. No matter how difficult the path, we have to reach the desired goal. If we work hard, fulfill our responsibilities with honesty and patriotism, then we will be successful, InshaAllah.
She said the golden jubilee of independence in front of us. Let us vow afresh that we will build a non-communal welfare Bangladesh free from hunger, poverty and illiteracy of the dream of the father of the nation by holding the spirit and ideology of the liberation war.
