Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen has said that there is no doubt that Rozina Islam, a senior journalist of the daily Prothom Alo, will get justice. He made the remarks in a live interview with CNN on Friday (May 21). The video of the interview has been published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Asked about journalist Rozina Islam in an interview, Foreign Minister Abdul Momen said, "It is a legal issue. The government does not want to interfere in the legal process. The judiciary of Bangladesh is very independent. She (Rozina Islam) will get justice ... It applies to anyone. We don't want anyone to be harassed for no reason. "

"There is law in the country and the government respects the law," he said. As a result, I do not want to say much about the legal process. There is no doubt that Rozina will get justice. '

Journalist Rozina Islam was harassed for about six hours in a room of the Ministry of Health at the Secretariat on May 17 while performing her professional duties. She was handed over to Shahbagh police at night and a case was filed under the Official Secrets Act. The next day, the court rejected her remand prayer of police and ordered her to be sent to jail denying her bail application.

Rozina's bail application was heard last Thursday but no order was issued. The court has set Sunday as the date for the order. Rozina is now lodged in Kashimpur Central Women's Jail.
